Data, smart investments and Caribbean resilience

Data, smart investments and Caribbean resilience is what this episode is about.

Resilience really is the new buzz word. Everyone is talking about it. But what is it? And how do we make smart investments in community resilience?

In this episode we speak with Runy Calmera. Runy Calmera is an economist, trainer and coach. In his initial years as a policy advisor at the Ministry of Economic Development of Curacao, he was trained by senior macro economist, Dr. Marein van Schaaijk, obtaining his Ph.D on how to build a macro economic model for a small economy.

Since then, Runy has constructed various macro economic models for Saint Maarten, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Grenada and Curacao. His passion is to teach policy advisors how to do macro economic analysis and develop their skills. Runy is also about using data to drive good decisions.

In this MYD Global episode we talk about the types of investment our communities should be making in resilience: including education, entrepreneurism, infrastructure, energy and food security. Runy also hosts his own Facebook channel.
